Opened in August 2002, the new Jay M. Robinson Middle School offers elective and exploratory programs chosen from the fine and performing arts, workforce development and foreign language departments.

Other activities offered include interscholastic sports, clubs and co-curricular activities such as Odyssey of the Mind, National Academic League and student council.

South Meck offers a rigorous academic curriculum that challenges every student with programs including Advanced Placement courses, Academically Gifted, advanced and regular courses in all subjects.
The school also provides the College Board's Pacesetter, commercial art, a restaurant management/culinary arts program and the national Flexography printing program.
Extracurricular activities include award-winning math and debate teams, fine arts programs, Naval Junior ROTC and athletic teams that have won 20 state championships and more than 100 conference championships.
